Safety & Efficacy of Clopidogrel by Gender
New data demonstrate that clopidogrel reduces the risk of cardiovascular (CV) events in both women and men. The study found that clopidogrel was associated with a highly significant 14% proportional reduction in the risk of CV events with no significant differences in treatment effect between women and men. In women, the risk reduction with clopidogrel seemed to be greatest for myocardial infarction (MI); effects on stroke and total death were not statistically significant. Among men, the risk reduction was significant for MI, stroke, and total death.
