Home Past Issues Search Hospital Profile Register Contact Us Back to Phys Weekly  Clinical Update  View Printable Page Bariatric Surgery Improves Coronary Atherosclerosis        Gastric bypass surgery appears to result in significant improvements in inflammatory, structural, and functional markers of coronary atherosclerosis, according to findings from an Ohio study group. At 24 months follow-up, patients who underwent gastric bypass surgery demonstrated a decrease in mean BMI.
