Analyzing Liver Transplant Survival |
|
Liver transplantation survival and cardiovascular mortality in patients with cirrhosis due to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) appear to be comparable to that of patients with cirrhosis due to alcoholic steatohepatitis (ETOH). Researchers compared outcomes of patients with NASH to patients with ETOH who had liver transplantations from 1997 to 2007. Overall, there were no significant differences in 1- and 5-year survival rates in the NASH (82% and 75%, respectively) and ETOH groups (92% and 86%, respectively).
