Agent Treats Hereditary Angioedema
       Ecallantide (Kalbitor, Dyax Corp.) was approved by the FDA to treat fluid buildup that can occur in people who have hereditary angioedema (HAE). The liquid drug is injected under the skin for patients aged 16 and older who experience HAE attacks. It should only be administered by clinicians with appropriate medical support to manage anaphylaxis.
